The country which is not having high literacy rate cannot implement appropriate strategies required for the development of the country. The first step on elementary education is started by Gopal Krishna Gokhale.
With his struggle an act was passed in the parliament on primary education. By this act education is compulsory for the children who are in the age group of 6 to 14 years. All the children should be given education irrespective of cast and color of the child.
This right eliminates the discriminations at all the levels in the system of education. From this act it is also made compulsory to keep at least 25 percent seats for the weaker section students. Free education will give great support to the students of weaker section and thereby they can change their livelihood. This education person from the weaker section will set up a new lifestyle to the next generations. This right also includes the facilities such as free mid day meal, free books, etc. A better nation is developed only when the literacy rate of that country is high.
